TREASURED HISTORY
The history of surf fishing on Florida’s Treasure Coast is deeply intertwined with the region’s unique history of shipwrecks and treasure hunting. The area’s name itself stems from the 1715 Spanish treasure fleet that was lost in a hurricane, with subsequent treasure discoveries sparking both commercial and recreational fishing. The area’s natural beauty and abundant fish populations have made it a popular destination for anglers for decades.
