The history of surf fishing on Florida’s Treasure Coast is rich and many of the techniques employed universally today originated here, including the use of rods up to 15′ long which can be necessary in certain conditions. The area is also still deeply immersed in its own history with the unique occurrence of multiple shipwrecks and treasure hunting right on amd off our beautiful beaches. The area’s name itself stems from the 1715 Spanish treasure fleet that was lost in a hurricane, with subsequent treasure discoveries sparking both commercial and recreational activities. The area’s natural beauty and abundant fish populations have made it a popular destination of anglers from around the world for decades.”
